In support of the UAE’s vision and progressive economic revival after the pandemic era, LuLu Group launched its newest hypermarket inside the world-class retail destination, Dubai Festival City Mall. H.E. Omar Al Futtaim, Vice Chairman and CEO of Al-Futtaim Group, presided over the inauguration of the new store. He was welcomed by Mr. Yusuff Ali M.A., LuLu Group Chairman & Managing Director, Mr. Ashraf Ali M.A., the Executive Director of LuLu Group, and the senior management of the Group.
Situated at the South Entrance of the lifestyle mall, the 60,000 square feet hypermarket is spread over one level and has marked the second collaboration of LuLu Group with Al-Futtaim Group (the first being the Dubai Festival Plaza in Jebel Ali). Besides convenient and streamlined shopping, the store offers customers over 1,500 dedicated car parking spaces, self check-out and green cash counters, along with a special feature of a LuLu Coffee Shop where customers can relax during shopping and grab a cup and freshly baked treats.
“With the opening of the new LuLu in Dubai Festival City Mall, we are in the centre of the fast-developing new retail trend in Dubai, which is to embrace flexible shopping formats without compromising on the LuLu brand promise of quality and choice,” said Mr. Yusuff Ali M.A., “Dubai Festival City is a vibrant community that reflects the Emirate’s fast-growing urban development and we are sure that LuLu will provide a world-class shopping experience to the residents living within the area.”
Timothy Earnest, Group Director, Al-Futtaim Malls, shared: “At Al-Futtaim, we continuously seek to establish fruitful partnerships with pioneering brands as part of the group’s long-standing commitment to prioritising visitor experiences. The new Lulu Hypermarket at Dubai Festival City Mall, a state-of-the-art superstore, is a key addition to the iconic destination’s offering and represents an important milestone in our current market-leading position within the sector. We are absolutely certain that Al-Futtaim Malls’ second Lulu will be a great success, and once again, look forward to delivering on our promise of transforming the retail landscape with this launch.”
In UAE, the LuLu Group opened two new hypermarkets in Dubai Investment Park and in Abu Dhabi’s Shamkha Mall earlier this month. Apart from these UAE-initiated expansions, the retail giant also launched new stores across Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Oman this month. The Group continues to see the Middle Eastern region as a platform for global growth and economic sustainability with new innovations for customer shopping experience, e-commerce push, and support for local agriculture and product sourcing.
