The first new beginning for the LuLu Group in the New Year was heralded by the opening of the all-new “LuLu Express Fresh Market” store in Al Shouzan Street, Al Mirfa district in Abu Dhabi. The compact store brings shoppers all the ease and convenience of LuLu’s signature product range, quality promise, and affordability in an urban setting where space has been optimally utilized.
The store was inaugurated by Chief Guest H.E. Ali Taresh Al Mehairbi, Executive Director of Department of Municipality Al Dhafra region, who was welcomed by Mr. Aboobakker TP, LuLu Hypermarket’s Director – Abu Dhabi and Al Dhafra region.
LuLu Group has been moving apace with its chain of “LuLu Express” stores which complement the retail giant’s hypermarket chain and logistics operations. The move has followed hypermarket openings in the region in recent months.
The single-level, 23,300 square feet store has excellent parking facility with 50 car spaces and will be primarily targeting those who love to shop in smaller quantities nearer to their home or office to avoid traffic and crowded big hypermarkets, while still enjoying the price advantage of big format stores. Fresh fruits & vegetables, grocery, meat & poultry and fresh & frozen food sections are the main focus of the store with greater emphasis on quick service.
“It is important to retain our quality of business flexibility to customer demand and the “LuLu Express” format is the result of customer-driven response to a quicker and more concentrated shopping format,” said Mr. Aboobakker TP. “Though hypermarkets continue to be our primary focus area, we also intend to open more of these express stores to cater to the growing demand of suburbs and gated communities. The strong brand loyalty and location advantage will surely help LuLu Express become a dominant player in this sector also."
