Lulu opens 198th hypermarket in Sharjah’s Muweilah

In a clear sign of positive change in the business sectors of UAE, Lulu Group is rapidly expanding its network across the UAE, especially in the new suburbs.

Today, Abdullah Sulthan Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Expo Center inaugurated a large format Lulu Hypermarket at Muweilah in Sharjah in the presence of top officials and invitees.

The new Hypermarket which is also Lulu Group’s 15th in Sharjah region & 198th globally is strategically located at Muweilah to cater the general public’s essential shopping needs. The sprawling 150,000 square feet hypermarket has been designed using the latest retail space concepts and most modern technology for ease of shopping.

Lulu Group, the leading retail chain in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is on an expansion drive and is all set to open another 32 Hypermarkets and Shopping Malls this year in Egypt, GCC and Far East.

On the occasion, Yusuff Ali M.A., said: “We are glad to launch this year’s first hypermarket that will provide a world-class shopping experience to the citizens and residents living in Muweilah and it’s surrounding areas. Over the years of catering to different nationalities, we have seen the growing demand for internationally sourced products. This is why it will be our continuous commitment to offer high-quality products at the most affordable prices in the market.”

Categories at the new store include grocery, fresh food, meat and fish, bakery, dairy, pizza and snacks, hot food, roastery, and a delicatessen, fashion, health and beauty variety, household needs, garments, footwear, electronics, home appliances, and a vast food court with fine dining area.

The Abu Dhabi based Lulu has announced that it is marching ahead with its expansion plans despite the challenges faced due to COVID-19 pandemic across the world.

As part of the Lulu’s expansion plans, more than 15 new hypermarkets are lined up to be opened in UAE alone in this year at various locations of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Northern Emirates. This include projects in Buteena, Samnan in Sharjah, Riyadh City, Shamkha, Al Wathba in Abu Dhabi, Silicon Oasis, Satwa, Dubai South, Souq Warsan, Mankhool in Dubai.
