October 26, 2020, Oman—LuLu Hypermarket Oman opened its latest branch in Markaz Al Bahja as part of its ongoing expansion strategy. The new store was officially inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Nasser Rashid Abdullah Al Mawali, Undersecretary to the Ministry of Economy, in the esteemed presence of Wali of Seeb, H.E. Sheikh Ibrahim Bin Yahya Al Rawahi, Lulu officials and representatives from other business communities.
The new hypermarket, which is the 25th branch in Oman and the 194th globally, occupies a selling space of 80,000 sq ft spread over two levels at Markaz Al Bahja. The hypermarket is designed using modern and international standards with a futuristic design to provide customers a complete shopping experience. Wider aisles, multiple counters, and ample parking facilities are all added features for a smarter and more efficient system of shopping.
Speaking after the inauguration, Mr. Ananth A V, Director of LuLu Hypermarkets Oman & India, said “Despite the retail industry going through a rough patch due to the current situation, LuLu remains optimistic. The opening of the new store demonstrates our resolution and conviction to meet the emerging challenges. We have set clear strategies and procedures about how we should operate, keeping in mind and respecting the health guidelines issued by the government and local authorities. We will do our best to keep operating and serving our community in the days ahead,” he said.
Mr. Shabeer K.A, Regional Director of LuLu Oman, remarked, “LuLu is committed to offer the best range of products available to our customers. The new store will give the local community access to everyday essentials to cater to diverse needs. Our overall mission is to make shopping a satisfying and happy experience always,” he added.
The new branch has separate sections for fresh foods, fruit, vegetables, dairy products, poultry, meat and fish, as well as hot food and bakery section. There is also a huge area dedicated to department store, which includes garments, electronics, IT products, stationery, and home appliances. There is a wide range of products to choose from the huge collection of latest electronics and IT gadgets at amazing prices.
LuLu is also working closely with vendors to ensure that all shelves are stocked up at all times. The Group stated that it is also closely monitoring and following guidelines and instructions from all authorities concerned. All the stores have been installed with automatic sanitiser stands for staff and customers.
Markaz Al Bahja Shopping Mall was developed in 2002 to give shoppers in Oman a mall of truly international standards. The mall boasts of a lot of global and well-known local brands, which completes an unforgettable shopping experience.
